The Boss' Birthday

We welcome July with a bang! Imagine two office celebrants in a month, and you know what that means right?  Okay, I'll spell it out for you, it means we get to eat for free and we get to eat cakes twice in a month, woohoo!  Yes, I'm that babaw, haha!

First off, it's the boss' birthday!  Last year, she celebrated grandiosely but this year she decided not to waste her hard-earned money, hurhur, and just have various small celebrations with her fam, friends and co-workers.

A week before her birthday we already know that she's going to throw us some free lunch, how do we know, of course we'll know, what's the point of office gossip *lol*.  Anyway, as she's going to feed us and because she's always 'taya' on cakes during our birthdays, we decided on giving her a surprise of our own.

First surprise, banana arrangement and centerpiece!  What's the story?  Well, she told the PIO girls that we should have banana as dessert on her birthday lunch treat, so we made it happen... with a happy twist!

Surprise no. 2, her birthday cake!  We ordered a chocolate-based, egg-white icing coated cake from Betsy's, you see, most of the cakes in the market today are commonly coated with butter icing, the same goes at Betsy's, if you want their famous white icing, you have to order in advance and that's what we did!

Twice the Fun!

By the number of times I had posted birthday celebrations of colleagues here in my blog this year alone, I assumed you already deduced that we do love to celebrate each others natal day.  Let me enumerate why:  first, there's free food, whether it's home-cooked or ordered someplace, whether there's aplenty or just enough to satisfy a normal person's appetite (I am the standard here, hehe); second, our boss never fails to surprise us with a cake (it's a little late sometimes but she always make an effort *grins*), so the celebrant can blow his/her cake and throw a wish in the universe, but more than that (yes, I'm sort of selfish *tongue out*) we all can enjoy a slice of that sweet treat; third, we get to spend an hour or two bonding and hanging out, free from work and the daily struggle of office politics, phew (for me, reason number 3 is the best!).

Tita Belle's Day!

Granny's 81st!

Granny past away 11 years ago but that doesn't stop us from remembering and celebrating her birthday.  We weren't able to have a Christmas Party last 2013 so Granny's party became a birthday celebration con family reunion of sorts.  It was Kuya Toti's (uncle by my mom's side) idea *pointing at the round cake below* of letting us know that we're having a family reunion, too *lol*.

It was a night of fun and merry-making and it feels sooooo good seeing my cousins and nieces and nephews and uncles and aunts again, most of us live in the same barangay, but we seldom see each other, life and stuff just always gets in the way *grins*.

Double Celebration

Itsy bitsy (you know, there's small and simple and others but what we do is sort of  smaller than small and simpler than simple so, itsy bitsy is a way better term, I think *grins*) birthday celebrations at the office, it's not really about good food but more of good company.

homemade spaghetti ni Ressy, puto w/cheese and Betsy's mocha cake
Ressy's __ birthday was celebrated last January 17 though her exact natal day was a day later, we don't work on weekends, most of the time, hehe.

E's 10th - 1st Birthday Cake

This is a bit late, a bit meaning, a week or two, and for the ever-late me, that's quite an improvement *grins*.

My son celebrated his 10th natal day last December 24, yes, he was born a day before Christmas, but as his birthdays always fall on Christmas vacation days, it has been a kind of tradition to let him blow his first birthday candle and share his first birthday cake (for the year) with his classmates.

We were able to buy him a simple round cake with his name on it in the nearby by notoriously-famous cake center at Malabon, but he failed to blow his candle and eat his cake as he had forgotten that a box of sweet delight is waiting at the back of his classroom, he was too engrossed in trying to win and hording all the prices in the party games his adviser prepared, or so we were told by the birthday boy.

We have the birthday cake and the birthday candle, the birthday boy is present so what to do we do? We made him blow his first birthday candle and make his first birthday wish (for the year) at home, a few hours after his Christmas party ended.  Sayang naman, kung basta na lang namin kakainin, hehe.
round and round, hehe

Late Post: Another Party

Almost three months ago, I blogged about my nanay's 1st birthday celebration on her 50th, with a side promise that I'll post the other one sometime this year, well dear friends, that time has come *raising hand in jubilation while saying yahoo!*

We surprised my parents (luckily, they have the same birth month) with a simple celebration at Tita Belle's house, as there are lots of kids in the fam and tita has a pool waiting to be dipped in, we decided on a swimming party, lucky us *grins*.

Late Post: Family Dinner on Nanay's Birthday

Another late post, teehee, this one was during Nanay's 50th, don't ask me when it was, you may faint from apoplexy, nyahahaha!

We had a simple family dinner at the exact date of Nanay's natal day and had a bigger one for the rest of her fam which I will post sometime this year *tongue out*.

Anyways, till next time *grins*
