Loots from SoKor

Blessings from the sky!  In the real world, it's blessings from my cousin.  I have mention more than enough times that I am an avid fan of (almost) everything Korean, especially their foods.  And because I am very, very lucky and loved, a cousin (father's side of the family) showers me with South Korean goodies from time to time, hmm, but I bet I would feel loved (so much more) if this becomes a regular thing, haha.

Look at my loots: Noodles from SoKor and a sealed plastic canister of homemade, full-pledged Kimchi.  Yahoo!  Thanks much cuzzo!

Korean Noodles

This brand of ramen (pronounced as ramyun) was one of the first few products that my cousin had sent me when she learned of my Korean obsession, and it has become a favorite, not only because this is the brand that she usually send my way and I sort of grew accustomed to its taste but, mainly, because I love how its flavor compliment the instant noodles, it's not overpowering like some brand that I tried and you know me, I don't like my food to be too seafood-y (I invented the term just so I can explain what I'm trying to say my own way, hahaha).

After saying all that stuff, I, regretfully, inform everyone that I still can't read Hangul, hence, I am still clueless on how to say/pronounced its name *sigh*.  If anyone who knew how happened to read this, can you please leave a comment and teach me, that would be so awesome *smiles*.

But there's one thing I know, which I personally think is the most important afterall, it is deliciously good, it may look plain and all but you know how looks can be deceiving sometimes right?  

Ramyun and Kimchi for Dinner

It's an open secret that I fell in love with Korean food after I got hook in their dramas and began to worship those good-looking and gorgeous Hallyu stars, so me posting ramyun and kimchi out of nowhere won't surprise you, right? 

I had another bowl of, my getting-there /soon-to-be favorite, Jin Ramen Hot and, syempre, Kimchi, freshly made from Korea, courtesy of my ever generous cousin for dinner and I love it so.

Finally, a real life KIMCHI!  A labor of love from a real life AHJUMMA!  Freshly produced, hand-picked and pickled from SOUTH KOREA *smiling like an idiot*.  A cousin came back from the Country of Hallyu stars and loves of my life, hurhur, of course my most awaited request reached my hands and I became almost the happiest woman on earth, I would have been the happiest if Park Yoochun or Eric Mun came in the package, hur!

A Jin Ramen (Hot) Initiation

Have I ever mentioned my love of all things Korean? I think I did, but still let me tell you how it all begin... it started with a mild depression and the miracle cure - Korean drama.  From there it stemmed to Korean Variety Show, Korean Music, Korean Stars and Starlets, Korean Food, Korean Language, Korean Culture and South Korea per se, the only thing this author haven't acquired a taste for is Korean Politics *tongue out*.

Anyway, another cousin (sibling of the first cousin I've mentioned) came back from Korea and one of the loots I got is a pack of Ramyun.  I still don't read Hangul, so just like everyone else, all I can tell you is what I/you can read from the packaging, it's Jin Ramen and it's Hot!

Chingu in Korean language means a friend, and eversince I got hooked in everything Korean, I met a few really, really nice people whom I keep and treasure as friends, my very own chingus (plural of the word chingu, english grammar applied, hahaha).  We came from different parts of the world, hmm, actually, only one of us is residing in the US, the rest (five, last I count, hence the abovementioned word  few, hurhur) are living here in the Philippines, albeit, a bit away from each other.  But as we live different lives (but bonded by our love of Joongbo, hur), we seldom see each other, and on those times that we do, we binge on food and coffee and talk non-stop about our melodramatic and hilarious life stories and of course, Korean showbiz tidbits *grins*.

And this is one of those moments when our schedules met and collide, in a good way, hehe.  We decided on trying Seoul Garden, a Korean resto in SM North EDSA, they offer eat-all-you-can for a little less  than Php600, we didn't avail of such as we felt like we won't get our money's worth at that time, we all came from work and not that hungry.  We, instead, ordered ala carte items in their menu, which the staff would ask on your way in, if you opted for ala carte, they would cover the stove in the middle of your table.  Even their ala carte items are ordered in set as it comes with unlimited drinks and a serving of dessert; they have yogurt, ice cream, brownies and fruit slices as dessert choices and they have iced coffee, milk tea, plain and red iced tea, mango, orange and pineapple juice, and various flavors of soda where you can pick your beverage of choice.

Our First at KBOP Korean Grill

Warning:  Due to the blogger's PhD in procrastination this post is almost a year overdue *grins*.

A day out with my chinggus on the first month of 2012, I snagged a 4-person group meal at Metrodeal and, of course, there's no better people to share it with than my all-Korean-obsessed chinggus.

I won't be able to give a full disclosure of what we've eaten and how it fared as it happened a long time ago and my memory, sad to say, doesn't function as well as it used to be but I fairly remember me cursing KBOP and Metrodeal a little as I think (yeah, present tense) their offer was a bit misleading, I wouldn't say that it's not fair but  I do, reiterate, that the deal is sort of ambiguous.
