Cravings: Pines' Cappuccino Brownies

I had been gorging myself with sweets - pastries, desserts - name it and I'm sure I've tried it, fortunately or not, work has been stressful enough to help me burn all the calories and fats so I haven't been gaining that much weight to warrant my OB-GYN's wrath and, a bit of her, concern, hurhur!

Ano pa nga ba, eh di tuloy lang ang ligaya *lol*!

A present from the hubby, I think, her sister went on a seminar somewhere in Pampanga and he forced her to buy a box of Pines' Brownies on her way home.  Cappuccino, because I had been wanting to have a sip of coffee but my OB-GYN won't allow me, hmmp, bad doktora *tongue out*!

Cravings: Revel Bars

Another product of Pines' and one of the most amazing pastry ever created / invented by mankind - Revel Bars!

Classic revel bars consist of two layers of oatmeal cookie dough sandwiching a fudge-like chocolate filling but different variations already popped and came out in the market.  I like mine not-too rich in the oatmeal and chocolates, I want my revel bars, smooth and a bit dry but still chewy.

A box will cost you more than your usual brownies but it's worth your money, promise!

Cravings: Pine's Butterscotch Brownies

I had blogged about this brand's chewy and yummy brownies a couple of times before, so I think, an introduction won't be necessary, 'ayt?

I had been craving for their Butterscotch Brownies since I conceive but the lady peddler who supplies us with Pines products went AWOL, good thing, two of my bro's college friends  hailed from Pampanga, hence an easy target for a craving, expecting mom like me, hehe.

Christmas box, how about that?
Butterscotch Brownies
As expected, it was a delight to eat, it was gone in like 60 seconds (yeah, just like the movie title).  And they even wished me and my family a really late or a really, really advance Merry Christmas, hahaha!

Chewy Brownies

Pines' Brownies and Delicacies claim the distinction of being the maker of original chewy brownies (refer to the box below, hehe), I searched the net and found out that the brand started in 1999 at the helm of Ms. Bernardita Serrano.  Now, the question is, does chewy brownies only began to exist in 1999?  If so, then maybe they really are the pioneers.  But does it really matter, personally, as long as I'm loving their products, to hell with who started / followed it, hurhur!

Photo below is a 20-pc box of Brownies priced at 160 pesos, price may be lower than stated when you buy it straight at their main or satellite stores, I get my regular supply from someone in the office, she's making money out of us, boo *grins*!

Pines' is part of a provincial branding program known as 'Vida Pampanga, Sharing the Best', it aims to promote various establishments located in the province locally and internationally by providing them a provincial seal of quality and excellence (refer to the photo above, lower left side).

Our Table on Christmas Eve

It has been a tradition (can a 10-year habit be called tradition?) in our family to celebrate Christmas eve humbly, it has been that way ever since my son came into our lives.  He was born a day before Christmas so his celebration would sometimes coincide with our Noche Buena or as we already had our fill on the afternoon of his birthday, we'll only prepare a few light dishes to share on the eve of Christmas.

Pancit Molo
Our table was graced with Pancit Molo, a well-known Ilongo dish, Sotanghon, a staple on our table during Christmas, Purefoods Jumbo Hotdogs, Frabelle's Pear Ham, Pines' Butterscotch and Revel Bars, Brownies (a gift from a parent from my brother's school, he's a teacher), and the usual Suman, Halayang Ube, Leche Flan.

Pine's Cashew Tarts

I was at rest for a few days (I'm not sure if it's called kinetic or static energy) not because I was busy or sick or any other reason that makes sense, I was just lazy *tongue out*.

Photos below were of Pines' Cashew Tart, bite-sized goodness that all sweet-lovers will surely adore.  I know, I did!  A pack of 16 (I think) cost 90 pesos.

This Time, It is Choco Fudge Brownies!

Another sweet treat from Pines' Brownies & Delicacies, this time instead of your old, plain, boring brownies (choz! never can a brownie be old, plain and boring in my eyes, hur!), we have Choco Fudge Brownies.

It was good but if I were to pick, I'd still settle for the plain ones, as one saying goes "Simplicity is Beauty," in this case, I'd say "Simplicity is Yummy," hahaha.

At least it didn't took me a year, hurhur!

E's 9th! (Part 3)

E's third and last 9th bday bash, this time it's with his family naman, syempre need din namin kumain at maki-happy-happy di ba?

It was a simple feast, as his birthday falls on the day before Christmas we just celebrate it with no fuzz or most of the time we just make it sabay sa noche buena para tipid, hahaha.  I remember E celebrating his birthdays in a grand way when he was 1 to 3 years old but then I got old and tired of all the hassles and aftermaths of December 24 parties, after those three years it just became children's parties at school with his classmates and birthday con noche buena celebration at home.  Then he got older (he's 9!) and it became a cake-blowing affair with his classmates and simple birthday dinner with us.

Ha, how time flies?

thanks to pizza deliveries life is a beach *grins*

Brownies, Brownies, Brownies!

One of Pampanga's finest, and you can quote me on that... not that what I say matters, hahaha!

I'm not really privy to where their shop/bakery/establishment is as I bought my share of sweet treats from a city hall peddler (I invented the term just for this post, wee!), I googled the name Pines' Brownies and Delicacies and found their un-updated FB page.  I know that they hail from Guagua, Pampanga and they have other goodies to offer like Food for the Gods, Revel Bars, different kinds of tarts, etc.

Photos below cost Php150 a box, you can opt for a 20 piece-box of the same treats or you can choose a variety box of sorts (see photos) - 5 bite sizes each of Brownies, Butterscoth, Marble and Cappucino.
